Our client is a manufacturer of flexible packaging. The group serves numerous multinational corporations and local market leaders in the food, pet food, pharmaceutical and beverage industries.

Key Tasks:

  • Drive customer relevant sustainable innovations and product development
  • Works towards finding new, innovative and economically reductive products in strong alignment with the key interfaces (e.g. R&D department)
  • Developing, implementing and monitoring the business unit portfolio strategy with regards to sustainability
  • Cooperation with external organizations (customers, suppliers, research institutes etc.) in order to find new product related approaches
  • Perform market intelligence studies regarding material, machinery suppliers and end-customer needs together with the customer, R&D, internal Sales and PM teams
  • Cooperate with machinery and material suppliers in order to develop new approaches
  • Sharing PM expertise with regards to sustainability across the company’s sales and product management organization
  • Coordinate product related sustainability initiatives within the business unit. Measure and steer sustainable product related performance of the business unit product management organization in order to  enable them to set up and handle sustainability projects within their product portfolio and plants. Ensure that all business unit initiatives are aligned with the overall strategy for sustainability.
  • Act as first point of contact for internal and external sustainability-related questions within the business unit
  • Drive transparency and bottom-line impact of sustainability activities
  • Support direct sales in customer visits through technical presentations / expertise in alignment with the local PM teams
  • Introduce and implement new products at our customers with the local PM teams, as well as lead the resolution of key technical issues with customers



  • Industrial engineering, Chemical degree, diploma or equivalent

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years product management related experience packaging, print, plastic (or other relevant) industry
  • Proven track record in delivering projects in large international organizations in a highly competitive environment
  • Proven track record in developing sustainable packaging products (e.g. work experience in research institutes or product development)


  • German (fluent)
  • English (fluent)
  • other languages are a plus

  • Strong cross-cultural experience
  • Understanding the requirements of the packaging business and the challenges of creating sustainable solutions
  • Customer and market oriented
  • Willingness to travel up to 70%
  • Project management certification will be an advantage
  • Strong communication and presentation skills (verbal and written)
